S1E9 - AZARIAH - Kind of Looks Like I Might be Stuck Here
Transcript
There is, unfortunately, no escaping physics. Bound by the speed of light, even information must take. It's time to get birth going. And as we move farther into the void that time grows until the distance becomes unspeakable.
Speaker B:Okay, are we good? Are we transmitting? Hey, Lex, can you hear me? Dude, you're never going to believe it. Oh, right. This is Azeriah below the sky mobile engine pilot, first Class Flight ID 26691, call sign Eurydice with a non emergency priority missive for Alexis Lex Archer, mobile engine pilot, first Class Flight ID 26697, call sign Domenica. Listen, you're never going to fucking believe what happened. Hey, man, can you step out for a second or something? Give me a little privacy? I really appreciate the help getting this thing up and running, but can I just talk to my buddy real quick? Yeah. Okay. Thanks. Thank you. Yeah. Right. Time limit, power draw gauge, lower right corner. Yeah, you got it. Thanks, man. You're never gonna fucking believe it. So, apparently, when the Academy transporter fired up this tiny refueling station on a centaur in the outer system with a malfunctioning target scanner just happened to latch onto my signature trying to haul in their cargo operator from Luna. From Luna? Like, are you kidding me, bro? I paid for that ticket to Miami Beta, like, months ago. Paid for the hotel and everything. A real hotel with real rooms. Not even a capsule palace. That shit came out of my stipend, you know? And and now get this. They can't send me to Miami Beta or even back to the Academy because when their transporter pulled me in, blew the face coil. Fucking totally inoperable. According to Tony, he owns the refueling station, runs it with his two sons and his longtime live in girlfriend, or maybe his ex who never moved out. Unclear. Anyway, it kind of looks like I might be stuck here. Obviously, the new phase coil can't be delivered by transporter, and we're traveling the exact opposite direction from Miami Beta, so fuck me, I guess. Not even totally confident you're going to get this transmission. Benny had to unplug one of the freezers to amp the power enough to run the out that far. Which, by the way, means I'm on a time limit. So if you want to put in a good word for me with Master Sergeant Castello, I wouldn't be mad at it. Fuck, dude. I was supposed to take that diffieq midterm again when we got back from break. Robinson is going to kick my ass, and I get to spend my shore leave trapped at a shitty refueling station instead of hanging out on a beach with the homies. They don't even have good snacks here, bro. Well, I hope you're having a better week than me. I'll try to get another transmission out tomorrow. There's supposed to be a fuck. Benny's got to get that freezer back on. Later, man.
